our team of internationally recognized award winning drivers! We
are interested in professional, customer service oriented people
to lease from our cooperative. Lease drivers are self-employed. If
you meet the qualifications below, follow the taxicab driver
licensing procedure or call (310) 699-9768
- Two years on a
U.S.
driver’s license
- One year on a California Driver’s license (must
currently hold a
California
license)
- No DUI’s in the past 5 years
- No more than 3 points in the past three years
- No reckless charges in the past 5 years
- Must be at least 25 years of age
- Not been on probation or parole in the past 5
years
- Not registered under the California Penal Code as
a sex offender
Taxicab Driver Licensing Procedure
- Attend the Taxi Taxi driver’s qualification
class, and pass the exam. The exam covers map reading,
mathematics and knowledge of the
Santa Monica
area. There is a $25.00 fee (cash) for this training and exam,
which is given on Tuesday and Thursdays beginning at 1:00 p.m.
and ending about 4:00 p.m. The class and exam are given at
2422 A Wilshire Blvd.
- Attend an Orientation Class which is free and are
offered weekly.
- Obtain a drug urinalysis-screening test. The cost
$40 and alcohol test $10. Go to

are required to take the following items to the City of Santa
Monica Licensing Office to obtain your Taxicab Identification
Card. Santa Monica City License Office is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00

When you completed the above steps, and you are licensed as a
taxicab driver; obtain a current H-6 computer printout from the
DMV. Return to 2422 A Wilshire Blvd. Bring your H-6,
California
driver’s license and your Sheriff Identification Card and see
the Recruitment Manager to sign a lease.
